Samita Nandy

Dear Readers,

I am writing from Toronto Pearson International Airport – had a lovely stay in Canada where I got covered in Chatelaine and Flare magazines. Thanks to writer Sydney Loney for her excellent interview and views. The article reached out to over 120K readers this month. Check out Chatelaine’s April issue for the print edition of her article – will be in newsstands across Canada soon!

I am also thrilled to announce that my article “Theatre, Performance and Memory in Fame” is now part of the Double Special Issue: ‘Audiences for stardom and celebrity’, and ‘Feminism and Contemporary Celebrity Culture’ of the Routledge journal Celebrity Studies. The article was released as I was speaking on celebrity personas at Deakin University in Melbourne last month. Thanks to Cultural Studies Association of Australasia (CSAA) and UK’s Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association (MeCCSA) for the wide distribution.

The publications would not have been possible without the ongoing inspiration and support from all readers, editors, publishers, and sponsors.  Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. Your views are always valuable so keep reading and sending your thoughts!

Right now, I am on my way to London, Lisbon, and Covilhã, where I will offer a public lecture on celebrity photography, selfies and activism. It is always a pleasure to extend publications to the public and connect with readers in person. Today I received another offer to speak on my published work about celebrity personas, which humbles me. Special thanks to Universidade da Beira Interior and European FEDER for organizing and sponsoring the current lecture in Covilhã.
